There's a wind of change in the air. Warm southerly breezes are slowing eating away at the ice and snow and although most people are elated to see spring finally arrive, it leaves me a bit melancholy. Bald eagles are on the move northward and the lock and dams along the Mississippi in Illinois that were once home to hundreds of bald eagles are now for the most part void of bald eagles. There are a few eagles that will stay and raise families, but the majority are well on their way northward.
I thought now would be a good time to put an addendum to my previous journal highlighting bald eagle photographs from this winter. Most of these were taken in January and February of 2008, with a few sprinkled in from early March.
I'm sure I will be photographing more of these majestic birds throughout the year, but not nearly as many as this past winter. I will freely admit I am addicted to photographing these birds. I can never have enough bald eagle photographs.
Enjoy!
